Evalyn Sartuche

 

Evalyn Sartuche was born in Phoenix, AZ and soon moved to North Texas where she began her dance training at the young age of two.  Evalyn trained at Prodigy Dance and Performing Arts Center, where she competed at YAGP and the Dance Awards under the direction of Camille Billelo-Gross. She began to solely focus on ballet training at the age of 9, at Mejia Ballet Academy where she trained under Paul Mejia, Maria Terezia Balogh, and Michele Gifford.

At 14, Evalyn began her training with Miami City Ballet School’s Pre-Professional division, directed by Arantxa Ochoa, on a merit-based scholarship. She performed works by influential choreographers such as George Balanchine, Jerome Robbins, and Alexei Ratmansky. Her repertoire included Who Cares?Western SymphonyTwo & Three Parts InventionsThe Four Temperaments, and Rita Returns Home. Evalyn also performed with Miami City Ballet in productions including George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker and Alexei Ratmansky’s Swan Lake

In addition, she attended summer intensives with scholarships to the School of American Ballet, Miami City Ballet School, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and New Jersey Ballet.

In 2023, Evalyn joined New Jersey Ballet’s trainee program, where she trained under Maria Kowroski. During her time there, she performed in productions of RubiesSleeping BeautySwan LakeSerenade, and The Nutcracker.

Evalyn is elated to return to Texas and joining Avant Chamber Ballet as an apprentice this season.
